We’re looking for community‑minded volunteers to help us at local events throughout the year. Whether you’re a student, an adult, a senior, or part of a corporate volunteer group, your support is valued. Even if you only have a little time to spare, your involvement can make a meaningful difference. All training is provided, and every bit of help strengthens our program and our community. We’d be glad to have you join us.
Our Fraud Fact Friday campaign runs through the end of the year, offering weekly tips and information to help residents recognize, avoid, and report the many scams targeting our community. Each Social Media post highlights practical steps you can take to protect yourself and your family. To explore even more resources, including detailed guidance on common frauds and how to stay safe, visit our Fraud Prevention section on this website.
Visit our Facebook Page to check out the information.
We would also like to thank our local radio station, Q101, for helping us share this important information weekly.
January is Crime Stoppers Month
Have you noticed our banner at the north entrance to town and wondered what it represents? Each January is recognized as Crime Stoppers Month, and the banner is our way of highlighting the important role the Crime Stoppers program plays in supporting community safety. By displaying it prominently, we hope to raise awareness, encourage engagement, and remind residents that our volunteers truly make a difference in the Nicola Valley.

This year’s theme, Safe Streets, Strong Communities...... Together We Can Stop Crime, highlights the power of collaboration in keeping our communities safe.
The Merritt & Nicola Valley Crime Stoppers Society would like to acknowledge the generous donation recently received from the RBC Foundation Community Investment Hub. This donation was made available to our organization in recognition of the 50 years of service by our local RBC Branch.
These funds will enable our members to continue our work toward increasing community safety as a long-standing charity. We greatly appreciate the support and look forward to connecting through media and upcoming community events.
Merritt and Nicola Valley Crime Stoppers would like to acknowledge the generous support of Beem through their Community Investment Fund. These funds will assist our charity to purchase supplies and equipment for increasing community awareness building within the Nicola Valley.
We appreciate having a partner in Beem Credit Union, who recognizes that “Being proactive and funding an awareness campaign supports education, security and mental well-being for the community at large, arming folks with the tools necessary to stay safe online and in their day-to-day life.”
We encourage you to keep your eye out for us at various events in the coming year. Come by to say “hello” and learn more about the work the Society is doing to contribute toward community safety.
